Coding as Literacy: Self Organizing Maps

With Vera Buhlmann, I co-organized a symposium on coding as literacy, focused on Self Organizing Maps. This symposium was a part of the series of Metalithicum conferences, being held annually by the applied virtuality lab from CAAD, ETH Zurich.

This year we had researchers from Quantum Mechanics, Mathematics and Topological Analysis as well as well known researchers in the field of SOM. Even, Professor Kohonen would be willing to attend, but unfortunately he finally couldn’t make it to travel to Switzerland as he is in his 80s. Nevertheless, he wrote a paper for the symposium, which will be the foreword for the book of the published papers of our symposium.

You can find detailed information here and here.

Note: The presented papers in this symposium was formed as a book with the same name as the symposium has. You can get the book from Amazon
